Quakertown Veterinary Clinic has several staff members trained in animal behavior.
For our canine companions, our staff can advise you of dog trainers who specialize in behavior problems and will work closely with them and you to help your pet through any behavioral issues.
Sometimes it is necessary to rule out any medical issues that could be causing the unwanted behavior and the veterinarian will give your pet a thorough examination as part of your behavioral consult.
The behavior problems that present to our clinic include such issues as: cats not using their litter box; and parrots that bite, scream or pluck. We can also help with problems such as: dogs that destroy the house due to separation anxiety, thunderstorm and fireworks anxiety, and canine and feline aggression issues.
It takes time and dedication to work through a behavior problem. There is no quick fix. It is important to have an open mind, patience and time in order to solve the problem. We are here for you and your pet to help reach your goals of a happy home with your family pet.
