CLINIC HISTORY
Dr. Calvin Moyer founded Quakertown Veterinary Clinic in the early 1900's at 724 West Broad street in Quakertown. Dr. J. Warren Detweiler purchased the practice around 1945. The practice was then sold to Dr. Robert Henry in the early 1950's and became a two person partnership in 1954 when Dr. Earl Blackburn bought into the practice.
In 1958 Dr. Daniel Burnside became the third partner. In 1967 the practice was moved to it's present location at 2250 North Old Bethlehem Pike. Dr. Dale Streams became a partner in the practice in 1972. In 1977, Dr. Blackburn retired from the practice.
As the practice continued to grow, the building was expanded in 1984 when the large animal surgery and office was added in addition to an extensive laboratory. Dr. Samuel Geller became the third partner in 1990.
In 1991 the clinic began it's Tri County Emergency Service supplying veterinary care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. One year later in 1992 the clinic was again remodeled and expanded with the addition of new boarding kennels and the Large Animal hospital barn. Also in 1992 Dr. Randy Bimes became the fourth partner in the practice.
In November of 1999 Dr. Daniel Burnside announced his retirement.
In May of 2005 Quakertown Boarding and Grooming was opened to the public. Our new boarding facility houses over 75 large runs, 22 luxury suites and cattery-condo style cages. There are separate areas for canines and felines. In addition to boarding, we offer grooming for all sizes and breeds of dogs and cats.

Quakertown Veterinary Clinic is one of only a handful of veterinary hospitals in the entire state of Pennsylvania who has passed the rigorous inspection of the American Animal Hospital Association and has been honored by being awarded accreditation as an AAHA hospital.
